Different strains were developed for either meat or egg production. We only have Coturnix quails, also called Pharaoh quails or Japanese quails. During the last three decades, there was a large increase in quail meat, and quail eggs production in Asia, Europe, South America and now growing fast in North America and Africa.

However, Quail Eggs have higher percentage of nutrition when compared to regular eggs.
